Ahnenblatt is a genealogy application designed for hobbyists and serious family historians who need a straightforward environment for creating, organizing, and printing family trees. Ahnenblatt supports entry of an unlimited number of persons and multiple partner relationships per individual. Structured dialogs guide the input of vital events, names, places, occupations, and sources. Internal use of Unicode ensures names and place names with special characters, including non-Latin scripts, are preserved correctly during editing and import/export operations.

Charts, Lists and Reports

Generation options include ancestor, descendant, family and hourglass charts, as well as various lists and person sheets. Graphical layout options offer customization of appearance, and charts can be exported to common file formats or saved as multi-page PDFs for large posters and displays.

Availability, Licensing and System Requirements

The current release series is Ahnenblatt 4, with the latest maintenance updates published in the 4.x line. A time-unlimited demo version is available that allows testing of all features but limits new input to 50 persons and places watermarks on some printouts; existing files with more than 50 persons can be opened. A license key converts the demo into the full edition while retaining already entered data. Ahnenblatt 4 supports Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11. Licenses for Ahnenblatt 3 do not apply to version 4.
